Hicking the Juan de Fuca trail


The key for staying fit and healthy is to incorporate physical activities into your life style. For that reason I went on a 3 days hike along The Juan de Fuca marine Trail. Located on Vancouver Island , the trail starts near Jordan River (about 1 hour drive from Victoria) and ends up close to the town of Port Renfrew. All together this is a 47 km hike into the wilderness and across several beautiful beaches. It is truly an experience of a lifetime ! Highly recommended for outdoor fans. On these intermediate trails you will strengthen your body endurance and reconnect with your soul.

If you are planning on doing the full hike, you will need water, tent, complete camping gear, bear spray,light snacks (trail mix or bars). And remember to pack light since whatever you have on your backpack will be weighting on your shoulders.












No bridge! No problem take your shoes off and cross it by foot!

















You simply go to your own pace and enjoy mother nature`s own miracles.





















There is a true feeling of pride and accomplishment after a good day of hike!













While hiking on the low tide zone. You explore a very different environment. This star fish was actual moving away!










This is a very pleasant workout.
The world is all yours.





















A very nice feature of the trail is the numerous wooden bridges. Indiana Jones style!





















A bit more technical this part of the trek takes you on top of giant boulders. Excellent for your balance and great workout for the cores.








This part of the hike is my favorite. The sound of the waves uplift you spirit.

While mostly in the forest, the trail
peaks out for some stunning view points.


































These home made bridges are alot of fun. They also keep you from getting too muddy. Each ones are unique.

All along the route on the beach we can see some amazing rock formations.


















This is boulder hiking at his best. Climbing Up and down works your bum and thighs.

easy snack idea


It is very important to eat every 2-3 hours if you what to improve your body. But what to eat when your not very hungry? Here is an example of good healthy snack to have between meals.

Easy Hummus Recipe

Ingredients

*1 15 oz can chickpeas drained
2 cloves garlic minced
Juice of 1 lemon
½ teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoons tahini
2 Tablespoons virgin olive oil

Place all ingredients in your food processor/blender and puree to desired consistency. Add a little purified water to get a nice creamy consistency.

Then add to it 1/2 of cottage cheese for your protein et Voila!

Vanny Vay wins the F.a.m.e competiton







Believe it or not! After only 10 months of intense training Yvan`s personal training client and "Protegé" Vanny Vay wins the first runner up in Fame West at her first ever fitness competition.











Vanny delivered an amazing performance and therefor qualifying for the Worlds championship in the bikini division.



"After the morning show, i knew that she
had a good chance to be in the top five. But
after a little beauty rest Vanny came back on stage with fire in the eyes like never seen before. She did the performance of a life time and the crowd in Vancouver went crazy with a standing ovation. " says Yvan.







The bikini division was the extremely competitive with over 30 girls fighting for a place on the podium.

Vanny worked so hard to reach her goal and now she is now super star in the fitness industry.
