Yvan goes snowboarding

Ok today I`am at Cypress mountain 20 mins outside of downtown Vancouver. The forecast is amazing 60cm of new snow! let`s ride!

My first jump !...

...Followed immediately by my first crash!

At 4.5 meters of snow on the ground and still growing, Cypress is the official site for the upcoming Vancouver winter Olympics of 2010. As far as me, my cruising speed as room for improvement. I think I lost the other guys...

I am still learning new tricks but first how to handle the deep powder snow? Keep your weight to the back foot...easier said then done.











Up here is the view is amazing. Behind me, the Georgia Strait. It looks like I am on the moon.



















This is what snowboarding is all about. Lots of laughs and a big breath of fresh air.




































It`s time to get back home. I had a blast and will be back real soon.

Yvan shoots with Yusuke Mori

My latest photoshoot with the famous Japanese photographer Yusuke Mori.

``This is a true honor for me the start the year 2008 by working with such a talented and establish artist as Mr. Mori`` Yvan Cournoyer The Vancouver tribune

``Early in the morning, on my way to the small studio in the west-end I know the day is gonna be very special. Large snow flakes are falling from the sky which is very rare phenomenon for Vancouver. The city landscape is surreal as palm trees and normally evergreen giant sequoia tree ware filled with a thin layer of sugar icing. It even reminds me of my native Québec and that puts me in a very peaceful and relax mood. I am happy!``



``The shoot features a line of winter clothes and right away, I feel comfortable on this chilly environment. But of course, I have to bring a bit of Yvan to it....

M.r Mori is extremely calm and he do not give me much directions. He simply let`s me move and dance to the rhythm of the music.

As I start my 7th year in the modeling industry, I feel like I am in the right place right now and specially, this shoot is a great warm up for the new season. I am having fun today and I feel very confident that a lot of other great photos will come from that work with Yusuke Mori. ``
